United Kingdom Testing & Certification (UKTC) is an independent, UKAS-accredited fire testing laboratory based near Glasgow serving manufacturers from across the UK & Europe. Accredited to ISO/IEC 17025, UKTC provides fire resistance and reaction to fire testing for a wide range of construction products and building elements, including walls, partitions, doorsets, cavity barriers, and external wall materials.
The laboratory’s testing capability includes a 3x3m furnace with 6 frames, alongside a new combination furnace opened in 2026 offering vertical fire resistance testing in configurations of 3×3, 3×4 and 3x5m, as well as horizontal testing at 3x4m. UKTC’s suite of reaction to fire testing and smoke leakage chamber allows manufacturers to complete their full scope of testing at a single location.
UKTC is also accredited to ISO/IEC 17065 for product conformity certification, including its own UKTC ensure™ scheme covering timber doorsets and fire-resisting metal-based doors.
In July 2025, UKTC was acquired by SOCOTEC UK and Ireland, joining SOCOTEC’s wider network of UKAS-accredited laboratories and strengthening its fire safety and building compliance offering across the UK and Europe.
